Save, Spend, Splurge? The Chloe Crossbody

Save, Spend, Splurge? The Chloe Crossbody

My current bag obsession is the Chloe Drew Mini Crossbody Bag. For me, a crossbody bag is everything, and I am obsessed with this one… It’s kinda got that whole boho vibe going on, while still being a great looking bag that can be incorporated into many different looks. Of course, I like to aim for the stars and dream about the beauty of this bag, hoping that it will one day be mine. But I live in the real world, so in the meantime, while I’m dreaming, I’ve scoured the net to find fabulous alternatives. Which one is your fave? Take my poll at the end of this post Save: Woolworths Colourblock Crossbody Bag When I spotted this Woolies beaut, I was like….. hello lover! It’s totally cute and although the colour block is completely different to the Chloe one, it’s a bag I know I’ll wear to death! The bold lock and chain front trim reminds me of the Chloe bag, and I love that it looks similar, but isn’t a complete replica – I hate that! I’m all for buying the “more down to earth version” of a handbag, but even then, I want it to have it’s own look, and…

Double Pop Winter – Outfit Post

Double Pop Winter – Outfit Post

Slowly but surely winter is creeping up on us! And yesterday, I could feel it in Durbs – Even if it was only for a brief period. Although a short burst of cold, it surely got me thinking about outfits for winter. This year, instead of blending into the blandness of black, brown and grey, I’m going to inject pops of colour, which certainly brightens my mood! Since I do love wearing black, I’ll be adding colour pops with my accessories; like bags, scarves and snoods. This look is so very me. It’s casual, laid back, a little bid edgy and a little playful too. What do you guys think? Outfit Details: Coral Snood – GAP, Leather Jacket: Old Khaki (hubby bought it for my birthday last year and I love it so much, I want the tan and brown one too!),  Top – Sassy Chic, Pants – Woolworths (from last year’s winter collection), Suede Sling Bag – GAP, Leather Boots – Tsonga, Sunglasses – Giorgio Armani. Sunshine Tiger

Sunshine Tiger

We’ve really had the most amazing weather in Durban this past week! In fact, I think it’s been the best “Christmas Week” (weather wise) in ages! The sun has been shining and with two days off, I spent a lot of time by my pool – which doesn’t get used very often. I got to wear my new GAP Denim Cut-off shorts, which are so comfy – I love the frayed edges – and my Tiger print tee, which I think compliments my new crazy ombre hair colour (inspired by Jessica Alba).       T-Shirt: Jay-Jays (new)  |  Shorts: GAP (new)  |  Bikini Top: Stuttafords (old), Sunglasses: Giorgio Armani (new)  |  Sandals: Woolworths (new)  |   Evil Eye Bracelet: From Greece (old)  |  Beaded Bracelets: From Mr Price (old)  |  Necklace: From my mom (very old)  |  Trilby Hat: Billabong (old)  |  Beach Bag: Lou Harvey (old)  | On my Nails: CND Vinylux Desert Poppy and Sun Bleached from the Open Road Collection [signature]

Nail Heart! Three Budget Savvy Ways to Jazz up Your Nails

Nail Heart! Three Budget Savvy Ways to Jazz up Your Nails

Every time I turn around, I see another funky new nail trend. Nail art is all over, and it’s all the rage! Check out these three products that are both budget friendly and will have you styling your digits… Exclusive to Clicks, TipTop have launched a collection of funky nail art duo’s that will allow you to shake up your nail look. For example, this TipTop Confetti Glitter duo allows you to paint your nails with this glam gold for the day, and then sprinkle with glitter for a rocking night out. Something similar, yet totally different are these TipTop Sprinkle Beads. Paint your nails with the vibrant shade of red and then finish off your caviar look with these tiny red beds. For this look, I applied two coats of of the red nail polish and let it dry completely. Then, I added a top coat to my ring finger only, and while it was still wet, I sprinkled the beads over it. You don’t have to use the top coat, you can “stick” the beads with the second coat instead, but because it was so tricky to get a even application, I found it best to rather use the top coat, just in…

Beauty Bytes – Fab New Makeup Goodies

Beauty Bytes – Fab New Makeup Goodies

Here’s a quick beauty byte on some of the amazing new makeup goodies I’ve been playing with recently. Tried, Tested and LOVED (as always)! Woolworths Makeup Wink, Wink, Blush, Blush! Woolies have launched an exciting new range of makeup that’s bang on trend and budget friendly! Some of the goodies I got to try: WINK Eyeshadow trio (R49.95) and BLUSH lip & cheek tint (R49.95). The eyeshadow I got to play with, Khol Maybe is absolutely stunning. I’m in love with the burgundy shade on the right and the khaki green on the left is also gorgeous. A great combo for winter! These WINK shadows are highly pigmented and great for adding metallic colour to your lids. In general I don’t like using the applicators that come with compacts, and prefer to use my MAC 217 blending brush to create a blended shade and my MAC 239 brush to pack on the colour.  You can even amp up the intensity of these shadows by dipping your 239 brush in a drop of water before packing on the colour. This will make your eyes pop! The BLUSH lip and cheek tint is a lovely cream blush that diffuses effortlessly on the cheeks and adds a perfect pop of colour to your lips.…

We Love Summertime at Woolies

We Love Summertime at Woolies

Some really beautiful, trendy pieces at Woolies lately!  I don’t know about you guys, but down in Durbs it really hasn’t felt much like summer. It’s been raining, overcast and a little too gloomy for my liking, so much so that I haven’t given summer clothes much thought. So, thanks to Woolies for sending some summer my way! Like these cute, pink leopard print ripped shorts. They are just perfect for summer and I can’t wait to wear them! They fit really well and I’ll think we’ll be great friends when the sun heads down to the East Coast. I’m also smitten with this must-have denim waistcoat. I bought a similar one from Woolworths last season and wore it to death. It’s a great closet essential that can be worn year round. This simple, yet not so simple black tee is such a great fit, I’m going back for more! I absolutely love that it’s shorter in front and longer at the back and looks great, especially with shorts! When I wear shorts or skirts, I prefer not to have something too short and fitted on top; I like to balance out my outfits with looser tops/ tight pants or…

Ring Ting-A-Ling! Christmas With Woolies

Ring Ting-A-Ling! Christmas With Woolies

Christmas just would’nt be Christmas without some amazing treats (to eat, to wear and to indulge in) from Woolworths. I don’t know how, but every year their Christmas selection just keeps getting better and more indulgent.  It’s a little difficult to watch our weight over the festive season with so many indulgent treats around. But let’s not complain about piling on the pounds, or kilograms as we say here in South Africa, and let’s just eat, drink and be merry! Here’s a look at some of the goodies Woolies has this year for you to enjoy! I got this amazing Christmas box from Woolworths, filled to the brim with all these goodies, so I can tell you first hand, that they are treats you would definitely want . Luckily I took photos before erm, indulging, otherwise as I write this today, I’d have nothing to show you, accept a beautifully wrapped box! Mmmmm-ama Mia! Loved the Dark Chocolate Discs. Most people would use these to decorate their tree, but not me – I had a fabulous time eating them. They were filled with a yummy  mint fondant! Something else you could hang on your tree, provided you have more willpower than moi,…
