Give Your Skin and Hair Good Hydrations

Looking to up your skin and hair game for the fresh, new season? Start with hydration!

Today on StyleScoop, I’m sharing 8 fantabulous, super hydrating products for your face, body and hair. So, if you’re looking to get good hydrations as we step into Spring, then you’ve come to the right place!

Filorga Hydra Filler Mask

The Filorga Hydra Filler Mask is part of the skincare brand’s new, individual sheet masks that launched back in April this year. If you’re looking for a one step, quick fix to boost your skins’ hydration, then you’ll love this product as it provides you with instant, results after just 15 minutes.

The best part, is that you simply remove it from the packaging, and apply the sheet mask over your face. It gets to work while you relax!

Lyocell fibre, with its excellent absorption properties is incorporated into the sheet mask to ensure the mask is fully saturated in all the goodness and that it adheres to your face, while delivering the active ingredients right to the heart of your skin.

The sheet mask is packed with active ingredients, that have been derived from aesthetic medicine to give you radiant skin that’s glowing with freshness. Definitely something your skin will crave after our dry, cold winter season.

The beauty of this mask is that it has Double Hydration effects. Firstly, low weight hyaluronic acid gets easily absorbed into the skin, while Natural Moisturising Factors help to regulate hydration, and retain water like a sponge on the skin’s surface.

Additionally, the Hydra Filler Mask contains Aloe Vera, Vitamins A, B, C and E, Iron and Zinc, to help you achieve that luminous complexion.

Price: R175 per mask and available at selected Edgars, Red Square and Clicks stores.

Eau Thermale Avenue

I’ve mentioned the Eau Thermale Avenue spritzer tons before and I really love it, especially when I’m looking for a quick boost of hydration for my skin and hair.

I actually used it all through the winter to get my fine hair to remain static free, and I love that it comes in a mini-can which allows me to keep it with me at all times.

Besides the lovely, cooling mist, I do love the aerosol spray nozzle – as it feels more like a super fine mist rather than being squirted as so many “sprtizy sprays” tend to do.

The 150ml aerosol can is great to keep in your handbag or gym bag for a quick pick me up, but at R149.95 it makes more sense to buy the big boy, 300ml aerosol can for R199.95 to use every day.

I do like to have options though!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist

Another fab, fab instant boost of hydration product from Elizabeth Arden, and one that I too used to tame the frizz in my hair.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist can be used on the face, hair and body and I love that it has the ability to “instantly” wake me up! Packed with key ingredients such as a Superfruit Blend and Apple Leaf Extract it’s another goodie to keep in your handbag.

The Superfruit blend consists of Acai, Goji, Mangosteen, Noni and Pomegranate Fruit Extract as well as Coffee Seed to offer antioxidant protection, while Apple Leaf Extract helps provide a soothing relief to dry, irritated skin.

It’s refreshing and again, like Eau Thermale Avenue, it has a fantastic spray nozzle that really gives you the feeling of fresh mist, gently kissing your skin.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask

I think these Moisture Bomb Tissue Masks were one of the most anticipated Garnier products this year! At least, for me they were!

Last year, I was so excited for, and still love to bits, the Garnier Oil Infused Micellar Water (what a great product) and this year, I did a little dance of joy when the Moisture Bomb Tissue Masks arrrived.

Besides being super affordable at R49,95 per mask, you get three choices of “moisture” to choose from. I reached straight for the Super Hydrating Rebalancing Mask because I felt my skin calling out to it. The other options include the Super Hydrating Replumping Mask and the Super Hydrating Soothing Mask, and I know I will get a good use out of all of them.

Much like the Filorga ones I mentioned above, these too offer an accessible and easy to use approach to “masking”. Just remove it from the package, peel off the mask and apply it over your face. Then chillax for 15 minutes and enjoy good hydrations.

One mask supposedly gives your skin the same hydrating effect as 1 week of using hydrating serum.

I only applied mine last night, so lets see how it goes!

SkinCeuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier

This product! OMG it is amazing! A new corrective serum that amplifies the skin’s hyaluronic acid levels by 30%!

I started using this and I could see results almost straight away! Within a few days, my skin felt like it had just come back from a holiday, sans the sunburn.

SkinCeuticals‘ new H.A Intensifier contains high concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid as well as Proxylane and Purple Rice Extract which work to support the skin’s natural Hyaluronic Acid Levels.

I absolutely love the texture that melts into my skin, and doesn’t affect my makeup application. In fact, I think it actually helped my makeup to look more flawless because of the texture improving qualities.

My skin felt boosted and firmer, and that was only after a few days of using this game changing serum. All I did was add three drops and work it into my skin every morning and night straight after cleansing.

Besides the focus being on hydration, I felt that I could skip out on the use of all other serums while using this one, simply because it did everything I needed it to do for my skin to look its best. Plumpness – check, reduced pore size – check, texture – check!

Urban Decay Hot Springs Hydrating Gel

I’ve always been a firm believer in choosing skincare from a skincare focused brand and makeup from a makeup focused brand. Not to say that a brand can’t dominate both markets – it’s just my personal preference – most of the time.

However, after trying out the new Urban Decay Hot Springs Hydrating Gel, I don’t think I can hold onto that notion anymore, because this product is a pretty fantastic “skincare” product!

I don’t like loading on skincare products before applying my makeup, because I often find that moisturizer makes my skin too slippery and then my makeup just doesn’t apply well. But since this is from a “makeup brand”, I was interested to see how well it would work with the intention of applying makeup afterwards.

And it does! In fact, it works as a fabulous hydration booster and a pretty good primer before your apply your makeup.

It’s lightweight and loads on the moisture without loading on top of your skin! Within seconds it soaks into the skin where it hydrates, balances and energises your complexion.

I actually stopped using moisturizer in leu of using this as my daily moisturizer and my makeup seems to go on better and stay on longer throughout the day. All while keeping my skin looking fresh and hydrated.

Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Oil Liquid Hydration Masque

For hair, my numero uno hydration mask of the moment is this Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Oil Liquid Hydration Masque. For Reals!

Whether you love the Kardashians, or hate them (I’m still undecided), one thing you can’t deny is that those girls have got amazing hair! And a really strong brand that they care about – which means they wouldn’t attach their name to something that they don’t believe in.

Their Black Seed Oil range is proof of that! I’m also currently using their Black Seed Oil Elixir Intense Repair Treatment (amazing!) and their Black Seed Dry Oil (amazing!) but the liquid hydration masque is an absolutely fantastic product if you’re looking to give your hair a boost of hydration!

It’s loaded with antioxidants to protect your hair and it leaves your hair silky soft, shiny and above all, manageable.

I haven’t trimmed my hair in ages and my ends were looking ratty and spikey. I started applying this treatment once a week to my hair (leaving it on for 10 minutes after washing) and also using the Elixir Intense Repair and Dry Oil from the Kardashian Beauty hair range daily.

My hair is seriously in such a fantastic condition, and even my ends are looking better! My hair feels like it has life and even though it’s generally prone to tangles, it’s so much more manageable when I include this gem in my hair care routine.

I do have to wash my hair quite regularly, like every second day at least, but on the days that I don’t use this Masque in my routine, I can definitely notice a difference in how less manageable my hair becomes.

Clarins Brightening Body Veil

For the body, a great product I’ve been loving lately is the Clarins Brightening Body Veil moisturiser. I love that it’s super light weight and my skin soaks it up quickly without leaving a greasy residue.

Generally products with lots of hydrating properties tend to have the negative effect of feeling heavy on my skin, and this one provides visible hydration without the feeling of having thick cream on.

Texture wise, it’s not as thick as a body cream, yet not as liquidy as a lotion – but the perfect texture.

I like that it has an SPF of 20, which means I can enjoy the newfound Spring sunshine without completely exposing my skin to the harmful rays of the sun. But I took it on holiday and used it at night as well, so a great moisuriser for day or night.

It leaves my skin glowing without looking superficially shiny and it’s packed with a Vitamin C derivative and extracts of acerola, alchemilla and spergularia, which have been shown to over time, even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots.
