A CHANEL Makeover with International Artist

Yesterday, I was treated to a fabulous makeover at CHANEL Pavilion, by their international artist Sophie Egerton, who is visiting South Africa from the UK.

All the fabulous products used on my face

First, the canvas was set using Chanel Teint Innocence Compact (in number 40), possibly my new favourite foundation of all time. I’m olive skinned, so the foundation was warmed up with another new favourite,  Soleil Tan De Chanel in Bronze Universal, then set with Chanel Vitalumiere Pressed Powder in B30.

I was really impressed with the foundation, how it all blended beautifully with my skin, while it gave great coverage. I’ve only ever used Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, from Chanel which is great, but I think this combination above is definitely my perfect fit!

Sophie started my makeover with my brows, spending quite a lot of time perfecting them. I love having my brows done by makeup artists, as it makes such a huge difference and I always manage to mess mine up when I try, although Sophie did give me some tips. First brush the brows down, then fill in the areas needed with a pencil before brushing them back up. That way you can get a better view of their shape and apply filler in the most flattering way.

I gave the fabulous Sophie, with her gorgeous red locks and bright red lipstick, freedom to give me any look she desired. She chose the gorgeous Chanel eye shadow quad in Kaska Beige, with a selection of warm chocolatey bronwn’s and toffee shades. MMM!

Getting smoked!

Before applying the eye shadows, she applied a khol liner on my lids in Ambre and Noir which helped to intensify the colour at the base of my lashes. She then pumped up my lashes with another gorgeous Chanel product, Sublime Mascara in number 10. A touch of radiance was added to my cheeks with Tweed Pink and the new Coco Shine lipstick in number 67, Deauville was applied to my lips.

Viola!

I left feeling perfectly polished without looking overdone. I also learned another pro tip from Sophie on how to “fix up” any errors you make with your makeup. Instead of using just a cotton eye bud (as many of us do) to clear up any mistakes, try adding a bit of your foundation to the tip of the cotton bud. This way you ensure that you don’t end up with patches on your face.

The finished look

Thanks to the team at Chanel SA, Gillian and Sarah for setting up my Chanel makeover and letting me experience some of the cool products I don’t have :)
