Hello March!

I realize today’s post is a little late, considering we’re already into the second week of March, but I’ve been under the weather and haven’t had the energy to post. Nonetheless, I’m feeling a lot better and wanted to start my first blog post of March as a tribute to my favourite month of the year! I love March for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s my Birthday month and it also happens to be my anniversary month. March is also (usually) filled with holidays, plus it’s the dawn of a brand new season.

So in keeping up with tradition, it’s wish list time again – ya know, just putting it out there for the universe to see… In all honesty, I don’t really know what I want this year for my birthday. As I’ve gotten older, it’s more about “loving” than “having to have” stuff and I only really buy things that I’m absolutely obsessed with, rather than just buying for the sake of having. I’d rather have less stuff that’s amazing, than a house full of things that I don’t love that just weigh me down.

Having said that, there’s a lot of things, I need! Like a new coat! I always need a new coat, especially for Jozi weather. Having lived in Durban for so long, I hadn’t collected many coats over the years, and I literally only have one coat that I’d say is a good one. This one from the TOPSHOP SS16 KARLIE KLOSS collection is such a beaut! It’s perfection in every way! I’m hoping that it comes to South Africa and even more so, that it looks as perfect in the flesh!

The other item I really need –notice, I said need not want, because I need it– is a Wallet on Chain type handbag. I’ve wanted one of these for the longest time and when I saw this gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff Cleo Wallet on a Chain my heart skipped a beat. How pretty is that blush pink tone? Perfect for winter!

How adorable are these Lace up Ballerina flats from ZARA? The cut out detail makes them so dainty and keeps them feminine, oh and then there’s the lace up detail… can’t resist a good lace up shoe and IMO ZARA always have the best lace up shoes and at affordable prices.

I love COCO MADEMOISELLE and I keep the Coffret from last year’s limited edition in my purse all the time! This years’ limited edition “Touche de Parfum” hits SA on the 24th March and I need it in my life. It’s inspired by lipstick and comes with its own beautiful suedette case. The applicator allows you to deposit a touch of clear, rich fragrance in a gentle caress on the skin. A great way to sneakily touch up on your scent without anyone even noticing.

Pretty books always make me happy and Bright Lights Paris by Angie Niles is on my wishlist, because like most gals, I’d love to know what it’s like to shop, dine and live Parisian style. Even if I can’t actually do it myself, I can always live vicariously through beautiful books.

I did a post about my new “it bag” obsession, the Cynthia Rowley Phoebe Saddle Bag and after more, careful thought, I’d totally pick the red one. Such a great bag wouldn’t you say?

I still want a pair of Red Hunter Boots! I have a black pair that has served me well, but a red pair would make a beautiful addition to my growing gum boot collection. Although, this time I’d get them in a size 6 and not a 5 like my previous pair. I normally wear a 6, but went down a size since I didn’t like the gap at my calf. The 5 still fit, but I can’t wear them with very thick socks (or those really cool Hunter socks), and now I prefer the gap rather than having the boots fit more snug.

I quite like this H&M Sweatshirt with Drawstrings – It looks a little too eccentric and boho crazy in the product visual, but on, it’s a great top! I like tops that have different styling options and it would go great with the red Hunter Boots don’t you think?

Still love the Pandora Majestic Feathers Ring. I saw it last year and fell in love!

Rouge Noir from Chanel is one of my all time favourite nail colours. I used to own it, but somehow in our many moves, it disappeared which I’ve never quite gotten over. Every time I walk past a Chanel counter, I’m tempted to replace it but my conscious always reminds me that I have way too much nail polish already. However, I now have some thing to argue with the good little angel sitting on my shoulder. In April this year, Chanel will be launching a whole new range of reformulated “favourite” nail colours and Rouge Noir is one of them – yay! I tried out Rouge Essentiel (which is a beautiful, solid red) and am in awe of the formula. So come April, I’ll be re-stocking my beloved Rouge Noir in the all new formula that is even more amazing!

Last but not least on my wishlist is this pink Free People Koda Brushed Scarf! The colour and the texture is perfect for snuggles in winter, plus it’s a big, blanket type scarf, so I need, need, need!

What items do you have on your wishlist as we head into cooler weather?

LOL Cam. I’ve learnt to always be very specific in what I ask for (in general), but especially when it comes to telling the universe what you want *wink*wink*
