There’s nothing I love more than soaking in a tub after a long day! A little bath-time R&R is like my daily indulgence, so I want to make the most of it with beautiful bath-time products. Satiskin were kind enough to send over a few of their goodies for me to try, including their Shower Gels. I’ve been using Satiskin Foam Bath since forever. It creates beautiful bubbles that last, it smells lovely and best of all, it’s affordable so I can use it every day! Their Shower Gels are the cherry on top! Ever wondered how fragrances are made? Well last week, I was lucky enough to get a little crash course in fine fragrances, thanks to Satiskin at the MANE headquarters in Jozi. We learned all about how fragrances are developed, from raw materials to the fabulous end product we get to enjoy. We also got to sniff and chat about some of the natural, as well as synthetic raw materials that are used to create different scents. It was fascinating! While I was there, I also got the inside scoop on the fragrance trends for our upcoming summer season! There are three main emerging fragrance trends for Spring/ Summer 2013… Jungle Fever, Anchors Away and Festive Nostalgia. Jungle Fever This trend is all about the strong floral motif. Imagine superized flowers, mixed in with exotic tropical ingredients! It’s those warm notes that work so well to compliment the fruity flavours of the jungle. I must admit, I’m loving the fact that more and more South African beauty brands are popping up. Here’s one I got to discover recently and it’s called Tranquil Body Treats. Like the name says, this range is full of fab products to pamper, nurture and well, just spoil yourself. Think body lotions, bath products, body scrubs, oils, soaps, massage oils, foot treatments (whew) as well as specialised treatments like eczema cream and a full skincare line. Its a loving range created by Leigh-Ann Burger, a qualified beauty therapist, who was like most of us, unimpressed with the high price tag of salon beauty products. Leigh-Ann researched ingredients and started formulating her own body scrub. A few months later she made her own skin and body care products and then decided to sell her little treats, naming her brand Tranquil Body Treats. Her range was tried and tested on 20 candidates with varying skin types and from there the best products were selected. I decided to give these products a bash.
