Lucky Country | Relaxed Weekend Outfit

Classic, red plaid is one of those essential winter patterns that just keeps making a comeback! Actually, I don’t think it’s ever really been out of fashion, which makes me wonder why it’s taken me so long to embrace it in my wardrobe!? Nonetheless, I’m feeling the whole country girl vibe right now and it’s all thanks to this cute as a button -seriously just wait ’till you see the cute shirttail button detail at the back-  plaid shirt from Lucky Brand…

I Woke Up Like This (outfit of the day)

I Woke Up Like This (outfit of the day)

Good morning guys! I hope you all had a fab weekend! This weekend I shot another little OOTD, with this totally cute graphic sweat shirt. I love graphic tees, so when I spotted this one at SheIn, I had to have it! For a sweatshirt, it was quite fitted, so I layered it over a white shirt to add more length to my torso – since I don’t like it when tops end just on my hip. Not a good look for an already “hippy” girl ya know what I mean! I think the white shirt with the collar peeking out also made the look a little more pulled together. Still casual, but not overly so! To brighten up my look and make it more weekend cool, I wore my new Dune London Ediamond yellow handbag. It’s not technically a cross-body bag, but it works perfectly as one for me! Then, I just added a fluffy little charm to my bag to add some fun and threw on a pair of ripped up boyfriend jeans, nude pointed flats and some blue accessories. Outfit Details I Woke Up Like This Sweater – Shein on sale! White shirt – Old Khaki (the same one I mentioned in this post) Handbag – Dune London Jeans…

Army Green Military Trench

Army Green Military Trench

I have a new obsession with trenches lately! They are such easy pieces that you can just throw on to instantly upgrade your look and make it more polished. Right now I’m loving this Lightweight, Green Epaulette Coat from SheIn – my new fave online shopping destination. As we say goodbye (and good riddance) to winter and hello to Spring, this trench will probably become my new BFF! I can picture a cute summer look with a little white tee, denim cut offs and gladiator sandals or even Converse… Hmmm! Yesterday, in Jozi we got to experience a little taste of warmer weather, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to wear this coat to an exciting fragrance launch (more on that soon). My look started with a hat, but quickly changed thanks to the wind deciding it was a no go (hence all the face touching in my pics). I am glad though, that I got at least one shot with the hat, because I love how it makes this look more wintery. I also really love the flap detail at the back of the coat, and the subtle hint of epaulettes on the shoulder which give it that military feel. Oh, it’s also got built in shoulder pads, which are perfecto…

Lightweight Trench – ootd

Lightweight Trench – ootd

I’m all for timeless pieces; a nude, double breasted trench, denim shirts, Hunter Boots, beautifully structured handbags and stylish sunglasses. And this is one of my favourite ways to put the whole look together! This lightweight apricot trench will be such a staple for Spring, but I couldn’t wait to wear it now! I usually wear an 8/small, but decided go get this one in a Medium, since I knew that I would be wearing it over something. I actually wish I had gone for the Large, just to give my arms more space when I wear it with something like my denim shirt. But nonetheless, I love it! I love how many different style options this lightweight trench offers, and although it’s not as thick or wintery as a classic trench, it’s still a great piece that offers the same, endless styling options. Like tying the belt at the back for example, which allows me to wear it open, but still ensuring that my outfit has a nice silhouette. Shop my Outfit Lightweight Trench Coat from Sheinside. It’s on SALE NOW 🙂 Levis Western Shirt – similar style here GAP Skinny Jeans Tumi Sinclair Stella Handbag – beige one here Hunter Boots. How cool are these? Lucky…

Shades of Grey #ootd

Shades of Grey #ootd

The winter chill is upon us, and all I want is to stay warm and fluffy all day long! Lately I’ve been living in my Riveria Edge to Edge longer length grey cardi from Old Khaki. It’s the softest, most snuggle worthy item of clothing I own and it goes with pretty much everything. Speaking of snuggle worthy, I’m also mildly obsessed with these cable knit fingerless gloves and my pom pom beanie (and I’ve still got my eye on this one). Outfit Details Grey, longer length cardi – Old Khaki (get it online here) Striped tee – Cotton On Fingerless gloves – Old Khaki (get them online here) Pom Pom beanie – Cotton On. Similar style here from Old Khaki Necklace – Lucky Brand Jeans – Luck Brand Leather Riding Boots – Tsonga Mug (my favourite) from Anthropologie

How did you all enjoy the long weekend? I’m looking forward to another one – it feels like Christmas haha! I hadn’t been to Lusito Land in years, so this weekend, we decided to give it a go! What a great day, full of fun with the fam-dam! I was really looking forward to enjoying some Portuguese Farturas, but the line was insanely long! I feel I need to go back and get me some! Make Your Own Luck

Make Your Own Luck

As I get older (and wiser), I seem to want less and less “STUFF”. When it comes to my wardrobe, I’d  rather have a few amazing, classic and wearable pieces of clothing that I love, over a cupboard that’s jam packed with clothing I hate, don’t wear and pretty much just hangs around taking up space. This winter, one of the brands I’ll definitely be popping by for some staples, is Lucky Brand. You guys know I’m already obsessed with their jewellery and I live in their jeans. But they also have a beautiful selection of clothing too. Last year, I bought myself a blouse from Lucky Brand, and it’s one of my best investments. One of those true wardrobe winners, that will take me through season after season. This year, I have a few Lucky Brand faves on my lust list … Lydia embroidered dress – R1799.95 Gold metal link bracelet – R549.95 Brooke Skinny – R1199.95 Double stone ring – R499.95 Double stone cuff – R749.95 Bella Woodblock leather belt – R749.95 Lucky Brand is available at flagship stores in Centurion Mall,  Eastgate Shopping Centre, Westville Pavilion as well as selected Edgars stores.

Boho Ink… Metallic Tattoos

Boho Ink… Metallic Tattoos

Metallic, foil tattoos are the hottest trend this summer, and being a little (make that very) boho inspired, I’m totally obsessed with them! You can find them pretty much everywhere, and everyone’s wearing them, but my faves have got to be from Lulu Dk. Lulu DK is an international designer that has traveled the world for inspiration. Her designs include wall coverings bed linen, fabric and leather, as well as her gorgeous metallic tattoos. I bought myself a set from Old Khaki and absolutely love them! They last for a few days -although when I wore mine as “ring bling” it came off the same night – and they look gorgeous. I received tons of compliments on mine, and its no wonder, they are so stand out! I love mixing them with actual arm candy, and ya know, boho styled pieces like; lace details, fringes and beachy hair. And speaking of beach, metallic tattoos offer a great way to wear a little bling at the beach, without the risk of damaging or losing your precious jewellery. The set I bought was the La Femme collection, which includes one silver and one gold card with various designs. Although I’m more of gold girl (than a silver), I love to mix the two together for an eclectic look.…

Vacation Summer Must Haves

Vacation Summer Must Haves

I have vacation on the brain! I just want to pack my bags and go on holiday, catch a tan and enjoy cocktails in the sun! So for today’s post, I wanted to show you guys some of my favourite Summer Vacation pieces… My favourite find is this pair of Crochet shorts from EXPRESS which is available at Edgars Rosebank. I went looking for them after I posted about them here and they are perfectoh! I’ve been on the hunt for shorts just like these for ages and after trying them on, I’ve hit the jackpot! I love the fit, the fabric, the cut and that they are high waisted without being super short! I was worried that because they are crochet they would add bulk (and who wants that!), but none of that. Just pretty, girly shorts! From River Island, I got this cute little summer cover-up/ jacket type thing! I went in looking for a kimono, but  fell in love with the print and style of this piece. I like that it’s super simple and can be worn day or night and could probably work as a beach coverup too? You guys know I am obsessed with Lucky Brand, especially their jeans and their…
