Romantic Weekend Getaway

Romantic Weekend Getaway

Last weekend was one of the best we’ve had in ages. In March, we celebrated our 8-year wedding anniversary and I really wanted to do something special, so we headed out to “the country” for a romantic weekend getaway at the beautiful Kievits Kroon Country Estate in Pretoria. This 16-hectare estate is a true gem! It’s like being in the beautiful Cape Winelands, without venturing too far from home. Well, if your home is in jozi that is! Lush and tranquil, Kievits Kroon is a country escape that has everything you need to relax, unwind and enjoy life’s little pleasures. From the moment you enter the estate, Manor Lane greets you a with a breathtaking pathway lined with the most beautiful setting of trees. As you drive through the estate, you cant help but appreciate all the picture perfect scenery that awaits. We took advantage of the surroundings and snapped some pics of my new trench coat which I love, but for today, I want to tell you all about our stay, and I’ll share the style post with you tomorrow. We checked into our VIP Suite on Friday afternoon and spent some time exploring and admiring the grounds before our dinner reservation at the Granita Restaurant. What I absolutely love about Kievits Kroon’s accommodation,…

Fire & Ice Cape Town

Fire & Ice Cape Town

Earlier this month, the hubz and I headed over to Cape Town to watch Bon Jovi! What an amazing concert – dude can still rock out! Not bad for a 51 year old man – although he still looks like he’s in his 30’s! On the day of the concert, we stayed at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice in Cape Town – A trendy hotel set in the heart of the Mother City! The Hotel features trendy and modern luxury rooms that have everything you need for a comfortable stay. For a more stylish stay, you can opt for one of the superior rooms, superior patio rooms or for the real trend setters, the executive suites look like a treat. We got to stay in one of the Superior Patio Rooms. A comfortable room that had an extra large king-size bed, LCD flat screen, air-conditioning as well as a shower and vanity that was separated by a curtain. The loo was in it’s own separate room behind the basin. One of the added features, was the private patio. The private patio makes a huge difference! It not only extends the space, but it’s really nice to sit outside and have a cup of coffee in the morning, taking in the…

Durban’s Finest – The Oysterbox Hotel

Durban’s Finest – The Oysterbox Hotel

If you’re looking for a great place to stay whilst in Durbs, I highly recommend The Oyster Box! The hubs and I recently got to spend a night in this beautiful hotel, where we both enjoyed a night of R&R and a spa treatment thanks to ELLE Magazine! If you grab the latest issue of ELLE (February 2013) which has just hit the shelves, then you can read all about our stay there as well as the must try treatment we both got to experience. While we were staying at the hotel, we decided to enjoy a little din din in the lovely Grill Room. It’s quite pricey, but the food and service were impeccable and totally worth it if you want a little spoil! This is a great place to go for Valentines day – which is less than a month away! Anyway, here are some snaps we took during our stay, just to give you a little taste of  The OysterBox. For more information on the Oysterbox Hotel visit www.oysterboxhotel.com

One night at the Pepper Club Luxury Hotel & Spa

One night at the Pepper Club Luxury Hotel & Spa

Last week I was fortunate enough to spend a fabulous night at the gorgeous Pepper Club Hotel in Cape Town – one of “South Africa’s most luxurious hotels” as reported by CNN Traveller magazine. I’ve always wanted to stay at the Pepper Club and was over the moon when given the opportunity to experience this R400 million luxury hotel. It was a night filled with pure luxury, surprises and an unforgettable experience… My husband and I arrived at the hotel where we were greeted by name. Something that from the very first moment, makes you feel like someone special. To add to that the hotel’s CEO, Nick Seewer, General Manager David Hughes and the lovely Jeanne Cupido, who is the Public Relations Officer and the tweetie behind @PepperClub were all there to meet us and welcome us to the hotel. The question, “when can we move in” popped into my head, but I decided to keep it in my mind. We were escorted to our luxury one bedroom superior deluxe suite by the very friendly porter, Dean. The views (bottom left) were absolutely magnificent. The Pepper Club is located right in the buzzing heart of Cape Town’s hottest area, bounded…
