Gift Guide: Lovely Linen Luxuries

Gift Guide: Lovely Linen Luxuries

I am a wee bit obsessed with linen fabric at the moment. And guess what? I am not alone! It’s no wonder everyone loves linen, with it being such a hardy, beautiful and elegant fabric that actually looks better with age. It wears so well, it washes so well and best of all, it’s long lasting.

Giving the gift of linen this festive season is a perfect choice if you’re looking for a special gift, particularly for people who love quality, and who you may think have everything they need.

IMO, you can never have too much linen! And I don’t mean bed sheets (which half the time are anything but actual linen fabric, although those do exist, albeit at a price – but that’s another subject all together).

All Marble Everything

All Marble Everything

The Marble Trend has been going strong for a while now, and I must be honest, I still can’t get over it! In fact, I could do with more marble… everywhere! It’s just too dang beautiful for words…. chic, elegant, tasteful and it makes for a damn fine flatlay to boot!

The Cashmere Sweater

The Cashmere Sweater

After this weekend’s chilly blast, I thought today would be the perfect time to talk about one of my most coveted pieces – the cashmere sweater… The king of all knits! I popped into ZARA the other day and couldn’t believe my eyes when I spotted the most perfect cashmere sweater ever! Spoiler alert… It is a heck of a pricey item and I am still weighing my options, so thought I’d share a few local finds if you too are looking to beat the cold in style with a little cashmere this season.

TREND REPORT: Riding Style

TREND REPORT: Riding Style

Next month, my hometown of Durban plays host to The Vodacom Durban July; one of Durban’s and SA Fashion’s hottest events! With all the hype leading to raceday, combined with a new found love for my riding boots (which I finally found after years of searching), this month’s Trend Report is all about being a stylish Equestrian. Now, as much as I love this style of dressing, I wouldn’t recommend wearing a riding-style outfit to The July – even though it would make more sense to trot around the grass laden race track in comfy flats and a jacket, instead of your sheer, backless couture designer gown and sky high heels – in winter! As for any other day, I definitely think this look rocks, even if you have no actual connection on the Mink and Manure belt. Here’s how to wear the trend… Riding Style Boots A true riding-style outfit requires a pair of fabulous flat riding boots! Riding boots are an investment and will almost always look stylish and on-trend, so it’s worth it to spend a little extra for a great quality pair that will last you a lifetime!
