Autumn is by far, my favourite season of the year! It’s not too hot, nor too cold so you basically get the best of both worlds. Sunshine all day and nights where you can cozy up under a warm and fluffy blankie and watch Netflix. It’s the best!

Happy Friday Gals! I’ve had a busy two days, judging Miss Veet SA, and man oh man, I am so looking forward to the weekend! It was a fun, yet grueling judging process, with such lovely girls. I enjoyed chatting with all ten finalists, but in the end the bubbly and beautiful Odirile Sepeng took home the crown. The crowning was held yesterday at the Four Seasons Westcliff Hotel and I took advantage of the backdrop (and the photographic skills of fellow fashion blogger, Irina from I’ll take it all) to help me shoot a little OOTD. I have vacation on the brain! I just want to pack my bags and go on holiday, catch a tan and enjoy cocktails in the sun! So for today’s post, I wanted to show you guys some of my favourite Summer Vacation pieces… My favourite find is this pair of Crochet shorts from EXPRESS which is available at Edgars Rosebank. I went looking for them after I posted about them here and they are perfectoh! I’ve been on the hunt for shorts just like these for ages and after trying them on, I’ve hit the jackpot! I love the fit, the fabric, the cut and that they are high waisted without being super short! I was worried that because they are crochet they would add bulk (and who wants that!), but none of that. I’m trying to step out of my style comfort zone. For a girl who wears jeans-jeans-and-more-jeans, it’s a hard thing to do. Trust me! Lately, full swing midi skirts have really caught my eye. They look so glam, effortless and stylish. So, when I spotted this beaut at Forever New, hesitant at first, I tried it on and fell in love with it! Everything about it is perfecto! The cut is very flattering on my frame. The high waist doesn’t make me look short and frumpy (which happens to me with midi skirts) and I love that it’s not solid black. The horizontal “burnout” stripes give it a nice vintage feel, and keep it looking stylish! Here’s a few virtual looks I’ve put together on how I’d style this fabulous skirt… Ladylike Lace Crop Top: Forever New. Snakeskin Laceup Heels: ZARA. My favourite way to style a full midi skirt like this one, would be with lace up heels! I love the effect the laces give to this skirt and transform it from 50’s style to modern glam. So last month, I was lucky enough to jet set off to London with River Island to find out more about this exciting brand that recently launched in South Africa. While I was there, I got to check out the River Island Headquarters, shop, explore London and also attend the 2014 Christmas Press Day, #RIXMAS14. I took loads of snaps, so brace yourself for a picture rich post… On arrival, we were treated to yummy drinks, including Peanut and Banana smoothies and various stations of flavoured “Mulled Wine”. You had to Inhale the wine with a straw, something I just couldn’t get right! The entire Autumn/ Winter 2014 collection was on display. The trends for the season include; preppy, luxe traveller, 60’s pastel, snow, grey and noir… I couldn’t get enough of the 60’s inspired sugary pastel hues. Fabulous faux fur coats, lovely lace and amazing textured detail. As for the shoes… WHOA is the word?! Colour makes a huge statement this season, with bold bags and sexy heels! Love the leopard print! Accessories go all the way, with fabulous hats, luxe snoods and statement jewellery.
