I’m all for timeless pieces; a nude, double breasted trench, denim shirts, Hunter Boots, beautifully structured handbags and stylish sunglasses. And this is one of my favourite ways to put the whole look together! This lightweight apricot trench will be such a staple for Spring, but I couldn’t wait to wear it now! I usually wear an 8/small, but decided go get this one in a Medium, since I knew that I would be wearing it over something. I actually wish I had gone for the Large, just to give my arms more space when I wear it with something like my denim shirt. But nonetheless, I love it! I love how many different style options this lightweight trench offers, and although it’s not as thick or wintery as a classic trench, it’s still a great piece that offers the same, endless styling options. I’m constantly looking for ways to pack smarter when I travel, and since I do a lot of travelling (locally and internationally), I thought I’d put together a little guide to packing like a pro, because it’s easier than you think! Your Suitcase Matters On my recent trip to Dubai, I travelled with the amazing TUMI TEGRA-LITE® MAX Large Trip Expandable Packing Case, and it is awesome with a capital A! You guys know I love my TUMI Tegra Lite Carry on, and it was amazing to take the “big boy” with me this time! My favourite travel brand, TUMI has a brand new range and it has finally arrived in South Africa! The TUMI Tegra-Lite MAX is everything you’re looking for in a travel companion and I’ll tell you why… TUMI luggage is just amazing! It not only looks good and high quality that lasts, but I like to call it the “smart travel brand” because it’s made for travel. Packing a TUMI is smart, maneuvering a TUMI is smart, the whole design and technology behind every TUMI is smart, and I promise you’ll look super cool at the airport too! I own a TUMI Tegra-Lite carry-on (the range before the MAX), and I always use it. I’ve really missed Jozi! I forgot how much culture and vibe this beautiful city has. I guess it takes moving to another city for ten years to realise what you really have “back home”! A little while ago, we visited the Neighbourgoods Market in downtown Johanneburg. If you haven’t been or heard of it before, it’s a saturday-only market in the heart of Braamfontein. The vibe there is really cool, a little hipster and a really great place to hang out, have a drink or feed yer’ face with delicious treats. You absolutely HAVE to try the Paella. It’s beyond anything you’ve ever tasted – and you can witness the whole cooking process in giant (and I mean giant, look how small the people look in comparison) paella pans. You might want to grab a quick treat like maybe a Miya’s Sushi Cupcake beforehand, as the Paella que is seriously long. The longer you wait, the hungrier you get! The lower level is where you “pick” your food. Upstairs, on the rooftop, there is an open air spaced area for you to munch it down, or have a drink in the bar.
