Beauty & Brains: The Fit Flop

Everyone is back to their hectic schedules, and that usually means the same old excuse of no time to exercise.

Going to gym is one thing, but you can’t be fabulous whilst working up a sweat now can you?  Well, that’s one of the excuses us girls say to make us feel better.  After all Carey Bradshaw never exercised in a gym – even though her real life character, definitely does.

Never mind that, and fabulously aside, going to gym is not as easy as the hot boddied gym freaks make it look.  So what do you do if you just can’t make it? And no, Oreo aerobics doesn’t count.

Well thankfully I was introduced to a fabulous pair of flops that claim to give you a workout while you walk.  So, I decided to test them out and see for myself just what these shoes are all about.

Dimi: “As a fitness fanatic and personal trainer, I’m always game to test and try cool fitness gadgets.   And I am really impressed with the quality, comfort and technology of the FitFlop.  Although I must confess, I do sweat it out in the gym (how not fabulous!) I found (and felt) that the FitFlops still targeted my leg muscles when I took my dogs for a walk – or shall I say, when they took me for a walk.

Although I don’t believe anything can replace real blood, sweat and tears (sorry – it comes from having it drummed into you at Personal Training school ), I do believe in holistic living and doing every little bit you can to get your body looking slim and sexy.  And if it means wearing my Fab, I mean FitFlops whenever possible to get in a bit more exercise, I’m all for it!  Although you wont catch me sporting flops at the gym – that just ain’t cool no matter what.

Another thing I love about FitFlops, and this will appeal to all you gym goers out there, is how they release the stress of over trained legs.  After taking a two week break from gym over the holidays, going back to lunges may not have been the smartest choice.  However, when I wore my FitFlops – even around the house or on the beach , the pain was much more bearable.

In terms of style, these are pretty funky and much more sporty than your average flop.  The thick, wedged heel gives you height and also enhances the appearance of your calf muscles, making your legs look slimmer and well, sexier.”
