Classic Style: Stripes {Shop the Look}

Happy 4th July to all my American readers! To fit in with today, I wanted to do a little post on stripes!

Since stripes are one of those Classic Style items, it’s definitely worth it to invest in some stylish stripes that suit your individual style!

I’ve always been afraid of stripes, but when you find “the right” stripe to suit you, you just can’t go wrong! Now I’m hooked!

I think the key to wearing stripes is to make sure the top (and I’m sticking to tops as striped bottoms are a no-no unless you’re super skinny!) is to ensure that the fit is not super tight.

Stripes look their best when they are effortless and flowy, not when they are stretched across your body! If you must, a size bigger is always an option. Don’t be afraid to buy a bigger size! If it bothers you that much, just cut off the label – no one will know and you’ll look better – promise!

Another key to shopping for striped tops, is to ensure that the stripes run all the way around. One of my pet peeves is stripes that do not match up in the front and back of tops!  I recently bought one of these annoying types, and only wear it with another top layered over as it looks ridiculous!
