Hello February!

Happy February beauties! We’re officially into the month of love, and to celebrate, I wanted to share some pretty pink fragrances that would not only make great V-day gifts, but special scents to wear on Valentines day.

Before we get started, I wanted to share a special something that launches this month from one of my favourite brands, Chanel (of course)!

It’s the new addition to the Chanel Chance fragrance family, the gorgeous Eau Vive Hair Mist (R650) and it launches in South Africa in a few days, on the 4th February 2016.

Like the Chanel Chance Eau Vive fragrance, the hair mist leaves a zesty trail of this gorgeous scent on your hair, without drying it out. It’s cute and compact (35ml bottle) and can fit into your handbag for the perfect hair-pick-me-up.

I love the Chanel Chance Eau Vive fragrance which launched last year and combining the fragrance with the hair mist will take your fragrance experience to a whole new level. Irresistible, juicy and fresh, this is such a lovely fragrance that has that youthful, carefree sprit while remaining unmistakably ladylike, chic and elegant!

An unwavering vitality that diffuses an incredible energy.
The zesty citrus notes immediately set the fresh and vibrant tone of the
fragrance, followed by jasmine and white musks, and finally the fresh scent
of vetiver wrapped around a cedar-iris accord.

PS this Feb, Chanel will also be launching a limited edition 35ml Chance Eau Vive fragrance, so if you want to try it out and create the ultimate lucky-love-charm experience, then now’s your chance. Both the limited edition 35ml Chance Eau Vive fragrance and the Chanel Chance Eau Vive hair mist as well as the larger 150ml Chance Eau Vive fragrances – available at Chanel counters nationwide.

If you’re in the mood for a really special, romantic fragrance, that’s every the bit as angelic as an Oscar De La Renta couture gown, then his two floral fragrances, Extraordinary and Flor are worth checking out!

From Jacqueline Kennedy to Anna Wintour, the elegance of powerful women has always shone brighter with the unforgettable designs of Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta Extraordinary EDP (R1295 for 90ml and R845 for 40ml) is a scent that represents the Dominican Republic designers vision of today’s women. A fragrance that inspires women to be the star of her own show, a fragrance that’s about seeing the women first and understanding that what she’s wearing only compliments her beauty.

The scent is fresh and young with sparkling floral, woody notes and the star ingredient of peony, inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s love for bows. If you remember the dress Taylor Swift wore in her video for “Blank Space” then you’ll remember the exquisite gown that she wore, which was part of the designers 2014 fall collection. Delicate gold lame bows were embroidered on tule and it took 310 hours to complete this dress, by hand…. Dressed like a day dream…

Oscar de la Renta Flor EDP (R995 for 100ml and R595 for 30ml ) is a slightly more grown up than Extraordinary yet still beautiful and feminine. Flor is a modern re-interpretation of the designers’ first fragrance, and features the same iconic bottle design adorned with colour and more fun packaging.

To be honest, I didn’t like the original Oscar de la Renta scent. For me, it was too much along the same lines as Opium, a little too musty and dated for my taste. However the re-interpreted fresh floral musk in Oscar de la Renta Flor is certainly more my style.

It’s lighter and more citrusy with top notes of sparkling lychee, lush neroli and crisp ivy. The heart notes include pink jasmine, fresh picked mango, blanc peony and the dry down notes combine creamy musk, tonka bean and sheer cassis.

A lovely fragrance for a lovely lady.

Oscar de la Renta fragrances are available at Truworths, Stuttafords and Dis-Chem stores nationwide

Carolina Herrera fragrances are also beautiful, feminine and seductive scents that are perfect for the month of Feb! I just love how elegant, sophisticate and sleek her fragrances are, much like the designer herself.

CH Carolina Herrera EDT spray for women is a gorgeous scent that’s a little bit citrusy, a little woody, a little sweet, a little musky and a little spicy.

It’s a feminine scent that’s not overly girly if you know what I mean. It has bit more of smokey personality making it feminine, yet more powerful and with an edge. I absolutely adore this scent.
