The Street AND I + How To Video on the YSL Spring 2017 Makeup Collection

Inspired by the streets and music; from downtown LA to the streets of Paris, YSL’s new makeup collection for Spring 2017 is all about the bright city lights. A stand out makeup collection, designed to bring out your inner urban artist.

While certainly bold, this collection is incredibly wearable! To show you just how wearable it is, I’ve loaded a video up on my Youtube channel where I’m talking you through a full colour look that you can create for day or night. All the colour for this look has been created with only these two products; the limited edition The Street and I eyeshadow palette and the genius Kiss & Blush Duo Stick.

I am so in love! And it’s not only because of the super freaking cute packaging! The products themselves are something to write home about – or in my case, write a blog post about!

Before I get into it, I have to mention that the quality of YSL products are really top notch. Yes, they are pricey, but trust me when I say, you honestly get what you pay for!

YSL eyeshadows are one of the few brands which work with my lids sans eyeshadow primer. I have annoyingly greasy lids, and if I don’t prime my lids before application, within an hour my perfect blending tends to look like I’ve just woken up from a nap – after leaving my eye makeup on.

When I tested out this eyeshadow palette, I went primer free to see how it lasts, and am happy to say I had perfect blended lids all day long! This little guy will be my ultimate travel eyeshadow palette, since it has all the colours I love, works for day and night and I can travel with less load since I don’t need an eyeshadow primer.

But let’s talk about the real reason you’re here. To see this gorgeous palette, up close and personal.

The limited edition eyeshadow palette features a tagging style case with the words “Keep and Eye On Me” written on the wall and it is even more amazing on the inside.

It includes 5 beautiful shadows in different finishes to ace the YSL look. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I am not afraid to play with fun colours on my lids! Orange is one of my all time favourite shades because it makes the green in my eyes pop.

Don’t be afraid of orange eyeshadow. It’s a shade that is so close to brown, I promise you it wont look crazy on your lids. If you’re afraid of colour, remember dark black liner and glossy black lashes are your best friend as they help tie the whole eye look together and make it stand out rather than having a random shade “sit on your lids”.

Designed in the classic YSL palette tray, using the different shades to create your look is fairly simple. Use the biggest colour block (top left) as your all over base colour. Top right is your highlight shade, while the middle and two bottom shades can be mixed and matched to create different looks.

The Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Duo Stick is an all in one blush/ lip colour stick, loaded with two complimentary shades. This one is in the colour From Darling to Hottie (No5) and it is gorgeous!

You can dip into it a single colour any apply to your lips or cheek, or swipe the stick on your cheeks to create a two dimensional shade (don’t forget to blend). You can even create a perfect ombre lip using this stick – lighter colour in the middle, with the darker colour around the edges and then blend.

The texture is creamy and I love it for my cheeks. As for lips, it gives them a nice pop of colour, but doesn’t have the greatest wearing power – so I would only use it as an emergency lip colour.
