Hi There

Kiehl’s Crème de Corps Review

Kiehl’s Crème de Corps Review

What’s the best way to feel good in winter? No, not by eating chocolates (you’ll pay for that in summer!) For me, and for my fantasy bookclub mate, Victoria Beckham, a great way to indulge (without the bulge) is to have a nice pampering spa treatment or fill your bath room with yummy treats that you can enjoy when it’s cold outside! I’m absolutely loving the Kiehl’s Creme de Corps range – a simply indulgent Nurturing Body Wash Cream and the amazing Lightweight Body Lotion. Besides the packaging (which is so super cool), these are great indulgent products! Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Nurturing Body Wash is a rich body wash, inspired by Kiehl’s beloved classic body moisturizer. It’s super thick and very creamy. When you squeeze a bit out into a sponge, it feels much like body cream on your skin! Great for winter! The other benefit – a little goes a long way! It helps to soothe your skin while fueling it with real hydration that doesn’t dry up immediately afterwards. You can take the indulgence a step further with Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Body Lotion. This body lotion is a lightweight version of their classic body moisturizer and will leave your skin smooth and soft all day long! I’m…

Bright Plus HP Hydrating Day Lotion

Bright Plus HP Hydrating Day Lotion

Clarins Bright Plus HP Brightening Hydrating Day Lotion is a great new moisturizer that’s perfect for summer. While it protects the skin, it helps to soften and illuminate it at the same time. It also has a built in SPF of 20 and is completely oil free! I love the fluid texture that leaves a matte finish and for a hydrating moisturizer, my skin just soaks it up with no greasy shine. I also love the pump applicator, which I’ve found usually helps me  to use the right amount of product and not too much. Like all Clarins products, Bright Plus HP Brightening Hydrating Day Lotion smells amazing and gives your skin that ahhhh feeling of hydration. The entire Clarins Bright Plus HP range is powered by the Sea Lily, which has powerful brighting extracts that help to reduce the appearance of dull skin, dark spots, freckles and assist in preventing the formation of new ones. I suffer from pigmentation on my forehead that I’ve spent a small fortune on trying to rectify. With the help of my amazing dermatologist, I’ve managed to get it lighter, but I just wish it would disappear all together already! If you’ve got pigemntation on your face, you’ll exactly how I feel. Everyone tells me they can’t…

Paraben Free Palmer’s

Paraben Free Palmer’s

I’m so happy, one of my fave moisturiser brands, Palmer’s with their famous Cocoa Butter Formula, have recently announced that their range is now proudly Paraben and Phthalate Free! Without going into too much detail and boring you with a Biology lesson, Parabens are chemicals that are used as preservatives in millions of beauty products; from shampoos to toothpastes, body lotions to makeup. While there have been many arguments surrounding parabens and their link to cancer – some studies say they are dangerous, others say they are not – I’d rather play it safe and avoid these wherever I can. Wouldn’t you? If you love Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula, you’ll also love their Stretch Mark Range, formulated with Bio C-Elaste, a safe and unique complex that helps to improve the skin’s elasticity , adding moisture back into the skin which could help reduce the possibility of developing stretch marks. Palmer’s Coco Butter Formula Stretch Mark range includes: Palmer’s Stretch Mark Lotion (250ml) for R47.50 Palmers Stretch Mark Cream (125g) for R47.50 Palmer’s Tummy Butter (125g) for R47.50 Palmer’s is available from Dis-Chem and Clicks stores nationwide.

Beauty Review: The Best Summer Foundations

Beauty Review: The Best Summer Foundations

The sun is shining, so it’s time to pack away those heavy foundations. I know you want to look good no matter what the season, so I’ve picked and reviewed my top five summer foundations of the moment (in order) and here they are! Tried, Tested and Loved – of course! 1. BOBBI BROWN TINTED MOISTURIZER COMBINED WITH BOBBI BROWN FOUNDATION STICK As a combo, Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer and Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick is my favourite summer foundation of the moment. On its own, the Tinted Moisturizer offers a nice even tone and gives the skin a nice healthy glow, but the magic happens when you apply the Foundation Stick lightly over it, and only where you need it. This combo is great for both day and night as you can custom build your coverage to suit your look. My Colour: Medium Tint Moisturizer and 4.5 Foundation Stick Read More: Find out what else I had to say about these two Bobbi Brown Foundations 2. CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE AQUA As a single product on its own, Chanel VITALUMIÈRE Aqua is the ultimate summer skin. You’ll see in the shots below, where I’ve sampled it on my arm, its texture is…

Beauty Review – Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer & Foundation Stick

Beauty Review – Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer & Foundation Stick

You might remember a while ago I did a feature post on Eduardo Ferreira, Bobbi Brown’s right hand man who recently visited South Africa and I got to watch him work some of his magic. One of the things that impressed me was how he used foundation. Now, you may know that Bobbi Brown is a huge believer in natural looking makeup. She focuses on enhancing natural beauty and working with what you’ve got, instead of trying to turn you into something you’re not. And so, when Eduardo showed me his little “trick” on applying natural looking foundation I was keen to try it out for myself. Instead of plastering the face with heavy foundation, instead he uses a tinted moisturizer such as Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer – which gives the skin an even tone. While it moisturizers and feels great, this tinted moisturizer also makes the skin glow with health. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now as my day wear “foundation” and love how it makes my skin look almost perfect, but still shows my skin underneath – sort of like a see through layer or veil. But, like most women, there are a…

Beauty Scoop – Summer body creams

Beauty Scoop – Summer body creams

Don’t you just love spring?  The gorgeous smells, the wonderful colours and the excitement that surrounds the welcoming of summer and party season? Now that all those layers of winter clothing have finally come off, you’ve probably noticed that it’s time to start getting your skin ready for summer. I’ve recently added two fabulous body moisturizers to my daily skin routine and in this week’s beauty scoop, I’d like to share them with you: The first one is Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula, one of the most indulgent, most delicious body creams I’ve tried.  It’s trusted formula has been used for years, and this one is packed with UVA/ UVB protection and has an SPF of 15- making it the ideal cream for every day use.  In addition, Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula also smoothes marks and tones the skin and it’s non greasy, highly absorbent formula will have you falling in love with it every day. At night, I prefer to use another yummy cream, Nivea Summer Beauty.  Its a lovely, rich and indulgent cream that also has firming properties.  Why I like it so much is that it smells really good and fruity and it also has a built in,…

Comfortable in my skin

Comfortable in my skin

I’m in my fifth week of using the beautiful, La Mer Moisturizing Creme Gel and my skin is loving every minute of it.  It has helped so much, that even after cleansing there is literally no dryness.  Before, I had to apply my moisturizer almost straight after I cleansed, because my skin would feel quite dry and irritated.  Now, I wash my face and it feels great because, through using this magical product, the overall condition of my skin has definitely improved. After nealry five weeks of applying the La Mer Moisturizing Creme Gel twice a day, every day – my skin is notably more radiant.   The texture feels silky smooth and my skin has an even tone throughout – no more dry or oily patches!  I have also not been using a separate eye cream with this product, because the cream is so delicate, you can use it on your eye area too. This product has hydrated my skin so much, that the fine lines in my forehead are almost non-existant.  The delicate area under my eye is also beautifully hydrated with no crease lines and it has also minimised the discolouration in that area. The fact that…
