Beauty Review – Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer & Foundation Stick

You might remember a while ago I did a feature post on Eduardo Ferreira, Bobbi Brown’s right hand man who recently visited South Africa and I got to watch him work some of his magic.

One of the things that impressed me was how he used foundation. Now, you may know that Bobbi Brown is a huge believer in natural looking makeup. She focuses on enhancing natural beauty and working with what you’ve got, instead of trying to turn you into something you’re not.

And so, when Eduardo showed me his little “trick” on applying natural looking foundation I was keen to try it out for myself.

Instead of plastering the face with heavy foundation, instead he uses a tinted moisturizer such as Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer – which gives the skin an even tone. While it moisturizers and feels great, this tinted moisturizer also makes the skin glow with health.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now as my day wear “foundation” and love how it makes my skin look almost perfect, but still shows my skin underneath – sort of like a see through layer or veil.

But, like most women, there are a few flaws that I’d like to cover up. Eduardo’s trick is to apply Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick -only where you need it- over the Tinted Moisturizer – so a little on the forehead, a bit on the outer corners of the nose and a dab or two on the jaw line. Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick is perfect for this and covers up really well.

What I love about it is how easy it goes on and how natural it looks. Even better, it comes in a container slightly longer than a lipstick, making it the perfect portable foundation that fits into your clutch purse.

It also offers build-able coverage, so you can perfect your skin for day or night.

If you’re skin is a little oily, or like mine which is a combination skin, you may find that you need a bit of translucent powder to lightly dust over the forehead, nose and chin area to reduce shine.

All in all, two really great products that work, feel good and are a must for every girl’s summer face.
