Pay attention kids, today’s lesson is all about the Anatomy of Sunglasses… Do you refer to the bits and pieces that make up glasses or sunglasses using all the wrong terms? I remember once referring to the temples as “arms” and I got the strangest look! Has this happened to you? A couple of weeks ago, Luxottica posted a Facebook update, illustrating the “anatomy of glasses“. I loved this, and being a freak for sunglasses, I wanted to do my own, StyleScoop version using my new Aviators, baby! If you’re fellow sunglass freak like me, you should at least know the proper terminology when talking about sunglasses. That way we can all understand each other and sound as larney as we look in our shades 🙂 So these are my new VERSACE Aviator sunglasses. Remember I spoke about how much I was lusting after these shades after they stole my heart at the Luxottica Day back in April? Well, they are now mine baby! And I love everything about them! These are also my first pair of Polarized lenses. Now, I can totally understand why my husband insisted on getting Polarized Oakleys as opposed to the normal ones! It makes such it a difference, especially when driving.

A few days ago I was invited to attend the Luxottica Days showcase at the Oysterbox Hotel in Durban. A day filled with sunglasses and a chance for me to check out some of the fabulous range of sunglasses on offer this season. The event is like one big, fat, indulgent sunglass party! Picture being surrounded by beautiful shades and you get to try-on any and every SINGLE pair your heart desires! The sunglass style that will never go out of style! This year, I’ve practically lived in my Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses! They are both so easy to wear and match every kind of style and outfit. I change between these two styles; the classic Metal Frame Aviators, which I took with me on my trip Greece/ Dubai, and then my most recent pair, the Semi-Rimless Aviators. I love both of them equally, and although they are both “aviators”, they look completely different! One of the things I have really enjoyed with my Aviators besides having top quality lenses to protect my eyes, is that Ray-Ban aviators come with super small, flat and compact cases, which fit so easily into handbags or the centre console in your car etc! The Metal Frame Aviators with gold frames and brown lenses were my first pair of Ray-Ban Aviators. These are very retro – and I love the look. and as Rihanna would say… “I’m feeling hella cool”! I’ve always loved Ray-Ban sunglasses, because lets face it, Ray-Ban’s are hella cool! Ray-Ban aviators on the other hand are even cooler… Think Top Gun, Jennifer Aniston, just about every rock star and even our very own Locknville, who are all Ray-Ban aviator fans. Never mind the coolness, these are the perfect sunnies to take on holiday thanks to the super slim case. I took mine with me on holiday to Greece and Dubai and I could fit them -plus more- in my sling bag, which is another holiday must! Here are some holiday pics from my trip… Here I am in Athens at Syntagma Square. Syntagma is in front of the Greek Parliament, which also used to be the King’s Palace back in the day. It’s a great tourist attraction and if you’re in Athens you should go by and check out the changing of the Evzones’s. Evzones are super tall (as you can see from my pic) guards that stand by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Good morning fashionistars! Hope you all had a great weekend and that the start to your new week is a good one! As always, here’s a quick wrap of my week in Instagrams for you to enjoy… I discovered an awesome li’l shop at La Lucia Mall called Lovisa. It’s a full on accessories shop, kind of like Diva, with the most amazing rings on the planet! I snapped up some pics of the ring-bling, my favourite being the tribal inspired black, gold and white ring on the left! On Tuesday I was invited to the Luxottica Buyers Day, a chance for me to check out the amazing new sunglasses collections that will be in store for us soon!
