BATA – The Shoe Brand To Watch

I recently spent a couple of days in Prague, attending Bata Fashion Weekend. Essentially I was there to learn more about this world renowned shoe brand, but also to learn out about the exciting things that are in the pipeline for the Bata Brand Internationally.

Add A Graphic Impact With Your Accessories

Add A Graphic Impact With Your Accessories

Black and white is anything but basic! It’s a style staple and in today’s scoop, I’ll show you some bold black and white trends from DUNE London to make your look catwalk ready! Are ya ready? Put your feet into one of these beauties… Although all white heels are a hot trend right now, I just can’t see myself getting past the mental block I have with white shoes. But I can still (almost) wear the trend with these beautiful black Alehsa pumps with an elegant white toe cap! Wear these with black trousers and a fitted white jacket. Or destroyed boyfriend jeans, cuffed at the ankle, with a crisp white jacket over a white blouse. Now these Carys are the business! I love a little animal peeking out and how darn good do these look? I mean! Whoa! I can’t think of one outfit in my closet that wouldn’t go perfectly with them. And I really love these Harmony strappy heels. They remind me of the bandage/ bodycon dress but for your feet. That dress has the power to make your curves look great – so imagine what bandage/body heels can do for your legs! Wrap your arms around these babes… No doubt you’ve heard me mention the…

Summer Trends from Dune London – Citron POP!

Summer Trends from Dune London – Citron POP!

Today I’m excited to share part one of my favourite summer shoe and handbag trends from Dune London, featuring mouthwatering pieces, perfect for a bright and happy mood! Summer 2014 is all about adding fun to your look with bold accessories, splashed in citrus tones, bright blues and modern pinks! Citron Pop is a refreshed take on the colour block trend that’s as predominately ‘summer” as florals. If you’re scared of going too colourful in your clothing, a bold, bright bag or pair of sexy heels can make your look current, without taking you too far out of your comfort zone. Stilettos, flats, block heels and bags are all making a statement and these are just some of the delicious items from Dune London! Ever since I bought my blue DUNE “Dinky” bag, I can’t get enough of this brand! Their bags (and shoes) are fantastic quality and very on trend. Every time I take my Dinky out, I get tons of compliments. So now I’ve got my eye set on more, more, more! I’m putting the Darbs handbag on my Christmas wishlist this year! She’s such a beaut! Darbs, I’d say is one of Dune’s iconic bag styles, that they “re-work” into the current season trends. And this hot colour blocked…

Dr Martens South African Store Launch

Dr Martens South African Store Launch

I used to live, and I mean LIVE in my Docs! Back in “the day” (and in SA) the style options were limited. You either had black or oxblood or you wanted them, and bad! But now, the variety of styles are endless. And (almost) all of them are available to us right here in South Africa! Woo HOO! I snapped up some some of my faves at the launch of the first flagship Dr Martens South African store in the Mall of Rosebank last week. A fab event, where we were treated to beer, burgers and OMG, Corndogs! From the original “ox blood” 14-ups to brighter coloured options, to some edgy clothing as well! Then there are these! Seriously loud styles in animal print, polka dots and floral prints. Black and white polka dots, rubber Docs, more animal print (I want to go back for these as the soles are slightly more “updated” from the original styles and I like that) and even a pair of Union Jack Docs. They also have only T-H-E most amazing satchels, made from leather and they look and feel just like Docs! So cute in fact that I bought the baby one, because I mean,…

My Favourite Autumn/Winter 2014 trends from Dune (Closed)

My Favourite Autumn/Winter 2014 trends from Dune (Closed)

Scroll down to the end for a fabulous Giveaway! I’m a summer baby through and through but lets face it, dressing up is so much chic-er in winter! And I’m super amped for the chill, since there are so many fabulous things coming our way this winter. Like these gorgeous shoes, handbags and accessories from Dune London! I mean, whoaaah! For me, an absolute investment would be in the classic styles! You’ll never go wrong with a pair of stylish black heels (and those Daughter Booties are TO DIE FOR). Another winter essential is leopard print and these pieces tick all the boxes. Also invest in classic nudes and tan heels, you’ll wear them season after season! Now let’s take a look at a few more styles from Dune’s Winter 2014 trends … BOY MEETS GIRL. Think block heels and boots for an androgynous feel. Muted, autumn colours of chocolate browns, blacks and reds give a gothic edge to this punk-influenced collection. GIRLY CLASH. Think pointed flats, tri-tone brogues and kitten heels for that girly touch. Contrast colour panels also add boldness to your look. SHIMMER & SHINE. Think silver leather heels and brogues to give your look a futuristic feel. Low block…

Nostalgia

Nostalgia

So, I’m giving away my age here, but anyway… About 17 or so years ago (eek), I used to rock one pair of shoes and one pair only. Can you guess? Dr Martens! Back in the day, we used to call them “Docs”, and I’m pretty sure that nickname still applies! We also used to refer to the styles as “eight ups”, “ten ups” or “fourteen ups” – do you remember that? It was a loooong time ago, but I can also remember that you had very few options (in SA at least); black or oxblood. My first pair of Docs (thinking about them saddens me), was a beautiful pair of black ten ups that were a rare find. I absolutely lived in these shoes, and despite wearing them like every day, they still looked pretty cool. I wore them with everything! I loaned them to a friend, who decided to keep them and insisted that I had never loaned them to her. Well, I might have been young and stupid, but not stupid enough to not notice them on her feet a few days later. Beee-aaaa-ch! This taught me two things! 1) Never, ever lend something to anyone, unless…

Sparkle, Celebrate, Scintilla

Sparkle, Celebrate, Scintilla

I’m counting down the days to celebration season! And, what better way to bid au revoir to 2013 and bonjour to 2014, than with a glass make that a bottle of 2003 Scintilla, J.C Le Roux’s award winning bubbly, created in the signature Cap Classique style (Méthode Cap Classique). So, although Scintilla is not technically “champagne” – since anything that isn’t made in Champagne France can’t really be called champagne – the production process of J.C Le Roux’s Méthode Cap Classique’s follows the same style that the French folk use when the make Champagne. In other words Scintilla, it’s not simply carbonated wine. It sparkling personality is earned, through years and years of perfection in a bottle! It’s amazing! Totally delicious, classy and ultra-sophisticated! Scintilla is made with a blend of 75%Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir. The two wines have spent seven years on the lees, which is the result of Scintilla’s smooth character, complex flavour and superior taste. Class my dears, class! My preference in bubbly is usually on the sweeter side! But, when it comes to the real deal (Champagne or  Méthode Cap Classique for example), then I prefer it a little more crisp with a dry palette that is well balanced. I will defs be celebrating the…

Living Le Good Life in Louboutins

Living Le Good Life in Louboutins

I have wanted a pair of Louboutins for the longest time! I’ve had an abnormal fixation with them since the first time I saw them – the little red sole just speaks to my soul! It always has and it always will. Sadly for me, Louboutins on a bloggers budget… exactly not likely to happen! But oh, it did! Thanks to J.C Le Roux! To launch their pink La Fleurette Non-Alcoholic bubbly, J.C Le Roux sent me as well as ten other bloggers, a press pack that came with a challenge… to create a post that would express how we’d live #LeGoodLife. The prize… a pair of Louboutins that we’d get to pick out (within a certain price range). I knew I had to win! I had to! I had to! I had to! And, luckily for me I did! When I submitted my entry I was holding thumbs and praying to the red-sole-shoe-gods every night, because all the blogs that were created were amazing! When I got the message to say that I had won, I literally screamed like a wile animal! We were out in the bush on a little African getaway – with no cellphone reception for three days! The same week that J.C Le…

I Want, I need

I Want, I need

There are few things in life where I have little self control… Chocolate would be one of them, but shoes… shoes are my real weakness! I could happily have rags to wear, as long as I was wearing my rags in a pair of fabulous shoes! Sky-high killer shoes that is! Like these beauts from ZARA. Aren’t they just stunning!? I spotted them on the ZARA website, and have been going into store, eagerly awaiting their arrival.
