After posting a sneak peek of the new Chanel 2014 eye collection, I received a few products from this collection to try out… One of my stand-out palettes from this collection was Tisse Vendome! Simply because all the colours looked amazing on the press visuals, I really love the peachy colour in the palette and I don’t have anything like this in my collection! When I got to see the actual product, I loved it even more. The colours come out beautifully when swatched on the skin and I really do love that peachy shade! See what I mean? Pretty right?! The second palette I got to sample was Tisse Venitien. I am really glad I got this palette too because it is absolutely gorgeous! Being a green/hazel-eyed gal, I usually steer away from green eyeshadow. I feel that it doesn’t do anything exciting for my eyes, unless the palette itself is really exciting, and the shades of green are really different! Well, this palette is very exciting indeed. The green is almost bluey green so it really makes the eyes pop. And that silver (third shade on my swatches) if friggin’ amazing! It’s like a burst of metallic silver sparkle,…

Face primers are a great way to extend the longevity of your makeup and give you a more flawless face to work with. There are tons of Face primers on the market, some really expensive, but some really well priced ones too! I picked out eight of my current faves… here they are, tried, tested and loved! Stila Hydrating Primer I was hooked on this primer the moment it touched my skin! It’s soft and leaves my skin perfectly prepped for foundation application. Its got a lovely smell that isn’t overpowering, and great to use on pretty much all skin types! Although it’s a “hydrating” primer, it doesn’t add any greasy or oily residue on your skin because it’s oil free! It gives my skin a glowing complexion and its also got an SPF of 30 with broad spectrum UVA and UVB, so you don’t need to apply a third layer of sunscreen to your face. Price: R320/ 50ml Works out to R6.40 per ml Filorga Deep Fill This product is meant for concealing wrinkles and works as a “wrinkle plaster” to get into those nasty lines and fill them up. It does this by drawing moisture into the skin,…

Batiste, which is the original dry shampoo from way back in the 70’s, have just launched two fabulous new scents… Dry shampoo never smelt so good! Strut your stuff like a peacock with the new Paisley Batiste Dry Shampoo or get fruity with the new Cherry Batiste Dry Shampoo. Two delicious scents that will instantly refresh your hair, while making it smell fantastic! Batiste is my favourite, in fact it’s the ultimate dry shampoo range! Besides being the original, they always come out with such yummy scents, good enough to eat! Check out some of their past “flavours” that have been featured on StyleScoop before. Back to the new scents… of the two, the Fruity & Cheeky Cherry is my fave. It’s got a soft, summer, almost bubble gum scent with a hint of cherry and I also get a whiff of mint?! The Paisley is a little spicier and has a stronger scent if you’re into that sort of thing. While I do love my spicy perfumes, on my hair however, I prefer that it smell more “fresh” and girly. If you happen to find yourself in a Clicks store, stop pass the Batiste range and give these two a sniff. The new scents are available right…

Here’s a quick beauty byte on some of the amazing new makeup goodies I’ve been playing with recently. Tried, Tested and LOVED (as always)! Woolworths Makeup Wink, Wink, Blush, Blush! Woolies have launched an exciting new range of makeup that’s bang on trend and budget friendly! Some of the goodies I got to try: WINK Eyeshadow trio (R49.95) and BLUSH lip & cheek tint (R49.95). The eyeshadow I got to play with, Khol Maybe is absolutely stunning. I’m in love with the burgundy shade on the right and the khaki green on the left is also gorgeous. A great combo for winter! These WINK shadows are highly pigmented and great for adding metallic colour to your lids. In general I don’t like using the applicators that come with compacts, and prefer to use my MAC 217 blending brush to create a blended shade and my MAC 239 brush to pack on the colour.  You can even amp up the intensity of these shadows by dipping your 239 brush in a drop of water before packing on the colour. This will make your eyes pop! The BLUSH lip and cheek tint is a lovely cream blush that diffuses effortlessly on the cheeks and adds a perfect pop of colour to your lips.…

Kicking off our 2013 Beauty Product reviews, here are some of the products I received last month that made it into my tried, tested and product list. Batiste Dry Shampoo These dry shampoos came just in time for this sticky, humid, summer heat wave we’ve been having. I swear I feel like I’ve been sitting in a sauna for ever. The weather has been absolute bliss, and while I love it, my hair certainly doesn’t. I’ve been using Batiste Dry Shampoo’s almost every day to try and combat the slick, sticky look my hair often ends up with mid-day. While a dip in the pool is always a welcomed cool off, it’s not that easy when you’re sitting behind a desk. So, dry shampoo is the next best thing – for my hair at least! Batiste Dry Shampoo comes in a variety of scents and variants, some of these include; Blush, Diva, Boho, Dark Deep Brown and XXL Volume. “Blush” is my fave smelling one, but because my hair is dark, I prefer using the “Dark & Deep Brown” version instead, and the smell is also rather nice. Dry shampoo is pretty much a blast of powder that serves as a quick fix to…

Lip butters are the latest makeup goodies on everyone’s lips. Our UK columnist, Bronwyn mentioned the arrival of these lip butters in her blog post back in May, and now I’ve had the chance to try them out for myself. I can definitely see what all the fuss it about! They are awesome! Perfect for summer, these lip butters moisturize your lips and give you a nice sheen of fabulous colour. They are not quite like lip gloss, in that they don’t make your lips shine and aren’t as “heavy” as lipsticks either. Lip Butters are the perfect in betweners and make your lips feel butter soft! The two ranges I got to play with came from Revlon and L’Oreal. Take a look… Revlon Lip Butters Revlon calls their lip butters Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter and I got to try out three of the shades; Berry Smoothie, Creamsicle and Tutti Frutti. Of the three, I absolutely love Berry Smoothie. It’s about the same shade as my own lips, so really gives them a nice punch! I do love Cremsicle which is a more nude colour, but sadly it doesn’t go to well with my skin tone. If you love nude, creamy shades, then definitely try…

If you’ve got shorter hair but want to add length, you can do it in a flash with Clip in Hair Extensions. To demonstrate this I used my buddy ol’ pal and regular beauty guinea pig for StyleScoop, Louise. Now Louise has very short hair that is also layered, so transforming her short hair into long strands was bound to be difficult. Difficult, but not impossible 🙂 Because Louise’s hair was so short we had to come up with another way to make it longer. So instead of applying the clips and letting it loose as I did with mine, we styled hers a bit, adding a cute flower brooch that helped to tuck in the bits of hair that were sticking out. She pulled it all to one side to keep it looking sleek. On the opposite side Louse plaited her hair, letting the hair fall to one side only. How cute and clever is this? So see, even if your hair is super short, you can make it super long with some hair tricks. Although Louise’s hair colour is quite different to mine, with all the highlighted bits, the colour at the bottom was very similar to the…

Although my hair is already pretty long, sometimes I wish it could just be fuller and more glamorous you know! So, when I discovered clip in hair extensions, it was to say the least, love at first clip. I must admit, I was sceptical about these at first, I did’nt think they would hold on my hair as its super straight and very soft, but I am very impressed. I love my clip in hair extensions. Take a look… As you can see my hair is a pretty decent length, but who can so no to more long locks? Check out the transformation from the picture above. The clip in hair extensions have blended beautifully with my own hair – you can’t even tell the difference! I put these in myself (without being able to see the back of my head) and it took me about 7 minutes to get them all in there. My hair is pretty layered at the back, so I do have odd strands sticking out, but when I pull all my hair to the side or keep it all back (with no pieces in front) you can’t even see where my own hair ends. My…

Always dreamed of having long, luscious hair that looks healthy and fabulous? Well, you know what they say, if you can’t make it, fake it! We love clipinhair extensions and you can be like the stars with a set of your own. So what are clip in hair extensions? You get hair extensions and then you get hair extensions. Ones made from 100% human remy hair are the best hair extensions on the market, but the beauty of the these is that you don’t have to damage your own hair getting them glued to you own locks because these simply clip in. I recently got a set from Clipinhair to try out and I’ve gotta say I LOVE THEM! They are super lightweight and very east to apply. In a matter of minutes you can transform your hair into a luscious locks that  look natural, full and very glamorous. Watch out for my full review this week on StyleScoop! Oh la la, I love my La-Brasiliana hair! La-Brasiliana is an intensive keratin treatment that transforms the hair. The result; smoother, shinier, more manageable hair. Now you girls know that nothing beats a good a hair day, so when given the opportunity to have one, every day for the next couple of months who could resist? Last week Thursday I went to the lovely Scissors salon in Durban to test drive the La-Brasiliana hair treatment. It’s a fabulous treatment that takes your hair from drab to fab in the salon chair. And when used in conjunction with the correct home care range, can let you keep your great hair for up to three months. What is it La-Brasiliana is an in-salon Brazilian keratin treatment. It tames your mane and although it can’t transform your hair from curly to straight, it helps it along the way. By coating each strand of hair in keratin and using a preservative to lock it in, you can enjoy sleeker, sexier, more manageable hair. For those of you with curls, styling them straight is a breeze after La-Brasiliana. I kid you not, it took me literally 10 minutes to dry my hair this morning with…
