Hi There

Bedroom of Bohemian Dreams

Bedroom of Bohemian Dreams

For my bedroom, I really wanted to create a calm and peaceful sanctuary. I wanted it to have a bohemian minimalist feel with an emphasis on texture and using muted colours that work in harmony to create that calming space.

Texture plays a big part when it comes to decorating throughout my home and I love adding bits of texture, layers and patterns that come together to reflect my personal taste.

Guest Bathroom Hacks! Tips To Ensure Your Guests Are Cozy

Guest Bathroom Hacks! Tips To Ensure Your Guests Are Cozy

Staying over at friends or family for the weekend can be fun, but it can also feel a little impersonal. Of course you’ll miss your own home, your own space and having your things at arm’s reach, but often the nuisance of having to bring all your beauty items “just in case” can become annoying. So what do you do? Make sure your guests enjoy their stay with you by turning your guest bathroom into their own little beauty sanctuary. Obviously, you don’t have to go all-out and make your guest bathroom resemble a spa or a hotel (unless you have the means and the ways), but there are a few finishing touches you can incorporate to make it a little more indulgent.

How To Spring Clean Your Closet, LetGo & Make Money

How To Spring Clean Your Closet, LetGo & Make Money

I have a closet room cupboard full of clothes. Yet, I’m always faced with the common dilemma of not having anything to wear. It’s not that I don’t have enough, it’s just that I have a cupboard full of things that either don’t fit, don’t suit my style, or things I just can’t get rid of because I spent too much money on them. While every girl wants a well edited collection of wearable items, Spring is the perfect time to shed the excess and start working towards that dream closet goal. By dream closet, I don’t mean one that’s floor-to-ceiling-wall-to-wall, but rather a happy place, filled with pieces of clothing and items that you would actually wear. So today, I’m going to give you a quick guide to spring cleaning your closet, show you how to LetGo and even make some money on the side. Money you can use for new items that are actually YOU, and it’s all thanks to a fun, interactive mobile shopping App called LetGo.

My Closet Room Reveal

My Closet Room Reveal

I’ve been meaning to do an updated closet room tour since moving to our new home, and also because my closet room is always a hot topic and one that is highly requested by my lovely readers on StyleScoop. We’ve been in Jozi for two years now, so it’s about dang time! This weekend, after giving my vanity table a fresh coat of paint, I thought now is the perfect time to invite you into a little visual tour of my second JHB Closet. The first one was just okay. I had set it up in the spare bedroom (benefits of not having kids haha), but I didn’t love it. It was dark and the walls were a bland and boring yellow paint (which we couldn’t re-fresh), but this one, man oh man, it’s perfect. Bright white walls,  high beam exposed ceilings and so much friggin natural light! The set up is very similar to my previous one from our Durban home, it’s just bigger and a lot better. I used most of the fittings from my old setup from the very first closet room, and since I have more space in this room, I could add an extra book shelf slash shoe…

ZARA HOME

Get excited, because ZARA HOME has landed in South Africa! I checked out their first South African store at the new Mall of Africa and now, I just want to re-decorate my entire home! Sigh! If only! Although, a girl can dream (can’t she?), and I’m doing just that…Here’s what I’ve got my eye on from ZARA HOME…

Cool Shizz For Your Desk

Cool Shizz For Your Desk

When I was a kid, I always looked forward to the new school year. Granted, it would fizzle out after a few days back at school, but I’d get really excited about seeing all my friends again and of course, having shiny new stationary and crisp, clean notebooks to get the year started.

New Year, New Desk

New Year, New Desk

Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to start thinking about the New Year. For me, the best way to welcome a new working year is with a fresh, inspired desk space. This weekend the hubs made me the most amazing, beautiful  “blonde” pine trestle desk. It’s gorgeous and big enough for me to work and fill it with pretty things! It needs to be finished off, so in the meantime, I’m looking for beautiful desk accessories to adorn it with. I love the look of natural wood, and since that’s the basis of my desk, I want to go for natural wood pieces, gold and white accents with a touch of black and white for contrast. Until my pretty new desk is ready to reveal, here’s a couple of gorgeous things that I’d love to have on my desk in 2015! Studio Sarah Notebook, Reiko Kaneko Lip Tease Mug, Jonathan Adler Gold Zebra Dish, Kate Spade Acrylic Letter Tray, Kate Spade Acrylic Stapler, Kate Spade “Escape the Ordinary” scented candle, Made By Girl Love Foil Print,  Wooden Hand Mannequin, Wood Block Perpetual Calendar. And of course, some inspiration… The beautiful desk of Danielle Moss via Apartment Therapy. LOVE this space of Kristen Clarke from Living In Color Print. More images here.…
